Today, on 28th March 2025, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation or NHPC share prices increased since the beginning of the morning session. CLSA, the brokerage firm, maintained its rating of High-Conviction Outperform.

CLSA attributed its reason to the anticipated commissioning of NHPC’s Parbati-II hydroelectric project in Himachal Pradesh by early April. This project has been facing complications that caused a delay of 25 years. It was planned for completion within seven years. The revamping of Parbati-II could increase NHPC’s capacity by 11.5% and produce regulated equity by FY26.

CLSA’s reiteration of its rating follows its reports on NHPC in February of this year when NHPC’s stock dropped by 25%. CLSA stated that buying NHPC stock during that time was an opportune moment for investors.

NHPC’s Share Price in Today’s Market

Today, NHPC’s shares opened to the market at Rs. 82.45, slightly higher than the previous close of Rs. 81.28. The shares are up by 4.2% compared to the opening bell rates. Company Financials

During the third quarter of FY 2024-25, NHPC earned a net profit of Rs. 231 crores, a 52.5% rise compared to Rs. 486.7 crores in the previous year’s third quarter. Reports indicated an 11.3% increase in NHPC’s revenue from operations at Rs. 2,286.8 crore, and the total income recorded was Rs. 2,616.89 crore, slightly higher than Rs. 2,549.69 crore in the same period of the last year.

Recent News About NHPC

  • NHPC aims to commission hydro projects worth 2,170 megawatts by the end of FY26. These plans include the overdue 2,000 MW Subansiri hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • To develop 1,200 MW of solar projects connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) and integrated with a 600 MW/2,400 MWh energy storage system, NHPC released a request for selection (RFS) in March 2025.
