NMDC Share Price Rise 3%, Interim Dividend Annouced For FY25, Should You Buy Or Sell?

On 18th March 2025, the NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporation) witnessed a surge in its stock value after announcing its interim dividend. This announcement, coupled with increased global demands for metal and decreased competition from imports, has led to building investor confidence. These factors resulted in high trades since the opening.

NMDC declared its first interim dividend FY25 at Rs 2.30 per share. The record date set is for Friday, 21st March. Shareholders who own NMDC shares as of 21st March 2025 will be eligible to receive the dividend, as their names will appear in the company’s register of members. The dividend payment will be made on 16th April 2025. NMDC shares opened to the market at Rs. 66.06 and are currently up by 0.3% compared to the opening bell rates and up by 2.2% compared to the previous close of 64.91.

NMDC Share Price in Today’s Market 

At 10:55 a.m., NMDC traded its shares for  Rs. 66.39 a piece, which is almost 0.3% higher than the opening rate. And 2.2% higher than its previous close. According to the reports and estimates on Money Control, the current market capitalization shows 58,324 cores; the UC Limit is 71.40, and the LC Limit is 58.41.

Company Financials

NMDC Limited is India’s largest producer of iron ore. The company released its Q3 financial results for the FY 2024-25 on 6th February 2025. As per the records, the net sales/income from operations were Rs. 6,530.82 crore, marking an increase from Rs. 4,806.57 crore in the Q2 FY2024-25. Its operating profit was Rs. 2,372.01 crore, marking the highest quarterly operating profit for NMDC.

  • In February 2025, the company recorded a 17.85% year-on-year increase in iron ore production, resulting in 4.62 million tonnes. In this period, sales experienced a slight decline, reaching 3.98 million tonnes.
  • In February 2025, NMDC signed with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to invest ₹21,000 crore in the development of the Vadhvan port.
  • After a three-year hiatus, NMDC resumed diamond extraction at Panna mine in Madhya Pradesh. The company expects to extract 6,500 carats, valued at Rs. 29. 48 crores, by the end of the fiscal year.

Trendlyne’s experts predicted that NMDC Ltd. has an average target of 70. The consensus estimated an upside of 5.66% from the last price of 66.25.
