KisaanSay Raises Rs 34 Crore Series A Led by NABVENTURES to Expand Direct Farm-to-Consumer Model

KisaanSay, a Gurugram-based food startup, has raised Rs 34 crore (about $3.6 million) in a Series A round led by NABVENTURES through the AgriSURE Fund, with participation from other investors. The fresh capital follows a $2 million pre-seed round in January 2025 led by Jungle Ventures’ First Cheque@Jungle and backed by senior food‑industry leaders.

Use of Funds and Strategic Priorities

The company said it will deploy the funds to scale distribution, strengthen marketing and brand-building, expand its team, and build a scalable organisation supported by a full‑stack technology infrastructure. These moves aim to accelerate KisaanSay’s market reach and operational efficiency as it grows its single‑origin portfolio.

Business Model and Origins

Founded in 2022 by Nitin Puri, Vaishali Mehta and Manoj Karki, KisaanSay specialises in single‑origin food products that are grown, minimally processed and packaged at source by farmer enterprises. The startup positions provenance and traceability at the centre of its proposition, seeking to connect consumers directly with farmer partners while promoting sustainable livelihoods.

Single‑origin approach

Under the single‑origin model, farmer enterprises carry out primary processing and packaging within their own units, enabling fresher products, clearer supply‑chain traceability and a larger share of value staying with producer communities.

Scale and Distribution

KisaanSay currently offers more than 100 SKUs across 12 product categories and partners with 25 co‑brand, co‑profit farmer enterprises. The network covers roughly 50,000 farmers across nine Indian states.

Products are distributed via the company’s direct‑to‑consumer website, major e‑commerce and quick‑commerce platforms, and select retail outlets in the Delhi‑NCR region, reflecting a hybrid go‑to‑market approach common among agri‑food startups seeking both reach and direct consumer engagement.
