AR Rahman’s 23-year-old son Ameen survived a road accident in Chennai early Monday when his Porsche car collided with a Wagon-R vehicle. He and his friend suffered only minor injuries and were discharged from hospital after treatment. The other driver was also injured in the crash.

How the Accident Happened

Police said the Wagon-R entered the main road from a side road and hit the approaching Porsche. Ameen was driving the luxury car himself at the time. His friend was sitting beside him during the early morning crash.

Hospital Treatment and Quick Discharge

Ameen and his friend were rushed to Kauvery Hospital for treatment. The medical team treated them for minor cuts and bruises. They were discharged the same day and have since returned home safely. The Wagon-R driver was admitted to Kalignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital with his injuries.

Police have registered a case regarding the accident and are investigating the cause of the collision. Both vehicles sustained damage in the crash.

Not the First Narrow Escape for Ameen

This is not the first time Ameen has escaped a dangerous situation. In 2023, he survived a studio accident when a heavy chandelier and truss fell on him during a music video shoot. He escaped without serious injuries that time as well. Following that incident, AR Rahman spoke publicly about the need for better safety measures on film sets.

Ameen’s Growing Music Career at Age 23

Ameen, like his Oscar-winning father, is building his own identity in the music world. He works as a playback singer and music producer. He sang his first song at age 12 for one of his father’s compositions. He has lent his voice to films including Dil Bechara and 2.0. Ameen is currently working on his own music projects and continues to grow as an independent artist.
