BJP Announces 65 New Office Bearers
The new BJP team includes 51 fresh faces out of 65 total appointees. Six members are under 40 years of age. Fifteen belong to the 40-49 bracket and 21 are in the 50-59 age group. The party has included 12 women and six minority community leaders in the lineup.
Piyush Goyal Becomes National Treasurer
Union minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the party’s national treasurer. His father Ved Prakash Goyal, a former union minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, held the same post for many years. Goyal is the only sitting union minister in the new party team.
Smriti Irani and Ram Madhav Return
Several leaders whose political stature had diminished have returned to key roles. Smriti Irani lost the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Amethi. Ram Madhav was removed as national general secretary in September 2020 by then BJP chief JP Nadda. Both are now back in the organizational setup.
Modi Leaves for Uzbekistan and SCO Summit
PM Modi will leave Saturday for a four-day overseas tour. He will visit Uzbekistan and attend the SCO summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The timing has added to buzz around a possible cabinet shuffle after his return.

The reshuffle comes over a decade after Amit Shah’s major party overhaul in 2015. Sources say the new team is designed for assembly elections due by 2029 and the next general election. The BJP aims to strengthen grassroots presence across key states.
