Tata Group company Tejas Networks saw its share price jump over 12 percent on Friday after securing a massive Rs 1,537 crore order from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The stock closed at Rs 576.80 on the Bombay Stock Exchange as investors cheered the development. This single order from TCS is larger than Tejas Networks’ entire existing order book, marking a major milestone for the telecom equipment maker. The surge came on a day when the broader market also rallied on the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
Rs 1,537 Crore Order for BSNL 4G Network Equipment
Tejas Networks received a Letter of Intent from TCS for supplying equipment for BSNL’s 4G mobile network. The order covers Radio Access Network gear, accessories and installation materials for 18,685 BSNL 4G network sites across India. TCS had earlier received a Rs 2,903.22 crore add-on purchase order from BSNL in May 2025 for deploying these sites. This order will accelerate BSNL’s 4G expansion and strengthen India’s domestic telecom equipment ecosystem through Tata Group synergy.
Revenue Grows 99 Percent Despite Quarterly Loss
Tejas Networks reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 202.24 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This compares with a loss of Rs 193.87 crore in the same period last year. However, total revenue surged 99.10 percent to Rs 402.16 crore from Rs 201.98 crore a year ago. The sharp revenue growth reflects the company’s expanding order pipeline and stronger execution capabilities. Analysts expect the new mega order to significantly improve Tejas Networks’ financial performance in coming quarters.
