AstroTalk’s Focus on Spiritual Commerce Drives ₹140 Crore Revenue in 2025

AstroTalk’s e-commerce arm reported ₹140 crore in revenue for 2025, just months after launching in November 2024, and has reached an annualised run rate of about ₹200 crore, signalling strong early demand for spiritual products and rapid scaling across India.

Early momentum from consultation-led commerce

AstroTalk expanded into e-commerce to monetise product demand that surfaced organically during its astrology consultations. Astrologers routinely recommended items such as gemstones, rudraksha beads, yantras, puja kits, bracelets and idols, creating a clear pathway to retail those recommendations to users.

What started as a modest internal experiment with a ₹30 lakh outlay gained traction quickly. Encouraged by steady orders and customer trust, the firm invested an additional ₹40 crore to bolster supply chains, inventory systems, technology and marketing, enabling faster scale-up.

In 2025 the e-commerce business processed more than 1.6 million orders, underscoring robust consumer adoption and operational capability to handle high volumes.

Product expansion, repeat purchases and geographic reach

The platform currently lists over 300 spiritual products and plans to add 500+ items by FY27, prioritising categories that drive repeat purchases. A repeat-purchase rate of roughly 24% points to growing confidence in product authenticity and quality—key differentiators in a market long dominated by unorganised sellers.

Demand from Tier II and Tier III cities is rising, and the company expects nearly half of future sales to originate from these non-metro markets as spiritual consumption increasingly moves online across Bharat.

Targets and long-term strategy

Buoyed by early results, AstroTalk is targeting a ₹400–500 crore annualised run rate by FY27. Growth plans include category expansion, deeper geographic penetration, improved logistics and tighter integration between consultations and commerce.

The company’s stated long-term aim is to create a trusted, standardised marketplace for spiritual shopping, combining astrologer-backed recommendations with transparent sourcing and verified products.

Core astrology business remains strong

While e-commerce is becoming an important revenue stream, AstroTalk’s core astrology consultations continue to expand. For the financial year ending March 2025, the company reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,176 crore, reflecting increased user engagement and monetisation across services.

The integration of personalised consultations with product fulfilment offers users an end-to-end experience—advice, recommendations and verified products—within a single platform, helping unlock new revenue streams.

Organising a fragmented spiritual commerce market

AstroTalk’s swift e-commerce growth highlights broader shifts in India’s spiritual economy. By combining trust, technology and scale, the company aims to organise a highly fragmented market and set benchmarks for quality and transparency.

With credible early traction, ambitious targets and growing penetration in both urban and non-metro regions, AstroTalk’s e-commerce vertical is positioning itself as a significant pillar of the company’s next phase of growth.
