Bellatrix Aerospace to Raise ₹107 Crore at 2.7x Higher Valuation, Fueling India’s Spacetech Growth

Bellatrix Aerospace is set to raise ₹107 crore in a fresh funding round, reflecting heightened investor confidence in India’s spacetech and deep‑tech sectors. The Bengaluru‑based propulsion specialist is reportedly securing the capital at a substantially higher valuation, underscoring growing private participation in the country’s space economy.

Strong investor participation

Regulatory filings show the company’s board has approved the issuance of equity and Series B preference shares to enable the fundraise. The round is expected to include a mix of new and existing backers, signalling sustained interest in the startup’s long‑term growth prospects.

Cactus Partners Fund is likely to lead the round with about ₹28.5 crore, followed by Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures at around ₹25 crore. Other participants expected to join include GrowX Ventures and 35 North India Growth, illustrating broader confidence in Indian private spacetech capabilities.

Valuation sees sharp surge

Bellatrix is anticipated to reach a post‑money valuation of roughly ₹870 crore, representing a 2.7‑fold increase from its previous funding round. The valuation jump mirrors a wider investor trend favouring startups developing complex, high‑impact technologies within strategic sectors such as space.

This re‑rating also highlights the expanding role of private players in India’s evolving space ecosystem, where commercial demand for launch and in‑orbit services is rising rapidly.

Focus on propulsion technology

The company specialises in propulsion systems for satellites, a core enabling technology for both small launch vehicles and in‑orbit manoeuvring of larger spacecraft. Bellatrix’s product roadmap targets efficient, reliable thrusters that can reduce mission costs and enhance satellite longevity.

As global demand for satellite connectivity, earth observation and navigation services grows, advanced propulsion solutions are increasingly critical to scaling space infrastructure and maintaining orbital assets.

Growth outlook

Bellatrix remains in an early commercial phase but is building its business through continued R&D and technology validation. In its most recent reporting, the startup posted revenue of ₹1.75 crore alongside losses of ₹25.27 crore, largely attributable to investments in product development and testing.

The current fundraise is positioned to support continued technical development, expansions in manufacturing and validation activities, and to accelerate commercialisation as the company moves toward larger contracts and flight demonstrations.
