PhysicsWallah has expanded beyond edtech by increasing its stake in Kamya Yoga & Wellness (operated by Kay Lifestyle and Wellness Pvt Ltd), marking a strategic entry into India’s growing yoga and wellness market. The fresh investment reinforces the company’s intent to diversify into health and holistic lifestyle services that complement its education offerings.
Investment details and stake increase
The company subscribed to Series Seed Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS) of Kay Lifestyle and Wellness, investing ₹1.5 crore in the latest tranche. On a fully diluted basis, PhysicsWallah’s holding in the wellness startup now stands at 41.18%.
This infusion follows an earlier tranche of equity and preference share subscriptions under a structured agreement that allows PhysicsWallah the option to further increase its stake subject to agreed milestones and terms. The recent move represents the second scheduled capital deployment under that plan.
About Kamya Yoga & Wellness
Founded in January 2025, Kamya Yoga & Wellness offers programmes in yoga, meditation, mindfulness and nutrition, positioning itself at the intersection of traditional Indian wellness practices and contemporary urban lifestyles. The startup targets city-dwelling consumers who are placing greater emphasis on mental and physical well‑being.
Despite its recent founding, Kay Lifestyle and Wellness reported a turnover of ₹1.17 crore for the year ending 31 December 2025, indicating early market traction for structured, professionally delivered wellness services.
Rationale for the move
PhysicsWallah, known for affordable digital coaching and large student reach, views wellness as a natural adjacent category. The shift aligns with growing concerns around academic stress, screen fatigue and mental health among students and professionals, and reflects a broader ambition to support holistic human development beyond academics.
By investing in a yoga-led lifestyle business, PhysicsWallah is responding to evolving consumer behaviour where education, lifestyle and wellbeing increasingly overlap.
Synergies and growth prospects
Industry analysts say PhysicsWallah’s technical capabilities, established brand trust and extensive user base could accelerate Kamya’s growth. Digital delivery of wellness content, online live classes, subscription programmes and community engagement could enable rapid scaling beyond physical studios.
The partnership also creates opportunities for tailored wellness products aimed at students, working professionals and families—integrating mindfulness and healthy-living modules into existing educational ecosystems.
Sector context
The investment reflects a wider trend among Indian startups diversifying into preventive healthcare, fitness and wellness. Yoga and meditation—rooted in India’s cultural heritage—are attracting renewed commercial interest as consumers seek sustainable, holistic lifestyle solutions.
PhysicsWallah is expected to complete the remaining committed investment within the agreed timeline. Market observers and participants in both the edtech and wellness sectors will be watching further developments closely as the partnership unfolds.
