RVNL Share Price Jumps 2%, GOI Decided To Disinvest From FY26, Check Recommendation Buy Or Sell

On 17th 2025, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited experienced a slight surge of almost 2% in its share prices. A senior government official declared that the GoI will be actively off-loading shares from RVNL, among other companies, in the initial weeks of FY 26. The official stated that the government owns 72.84% of the PSU stock and that shares will be listed under OFS starting in FY26. Given the delays in strategic divestitures and asset monetisation, this action attempts to increase non-tax revenue and preserve market discipline.

Yesterday, RVNL shares opened to the market at Rs. 365.00 and recorded a day-high of Rs. 374.25 and a day-low of Rs. 362.40. 

RVNL Share Price Performance On 17th April

At 15:59, when the market closed,  RVNL’s share price stood at  Rs. 370.85. It was nearly 10.4% higher than its previous close of Rs. 367.05. According to the reports and estimates on Money Control, the market capitalisation was 77,322 cores; the UC Limit was 440.45, and the LC Limit was 293.65.

Company Financials

According to the Q3 financial data, RVNL’s net income dropped 2.6% year over year to Rs. 4,567.38 crore.  When compared to the third quarter of the previous year, RVNL’s profit fell 13% to Rs. 311.58 crore.  Operating profits decreased by 5.07% to Rs. 231.89 crore from the same quarter last year.

Recent News About RVNL

  • In early February 2025, East Coast Railway awarded RVNL a ₹404.4 crore contract for the Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling Project. 
  • The project entails building 27 large bridges, including five road-over bridges (ROBs) and 22 major bridges, as well as related protection and earthwork between Tikiri and Bhalumaska stations.
  • In March, RVNL secured a Rs. 1,360 crore contract by South Western Railway to build a new broad-gauge line between Tumkur and Rayadurga.

According to Trendlyne’s reports, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. has an average target of 463. The consensus estimate represents an upside of 24.85% from the last price of 370.85.
