Urban Company’s InstaHelp Tops 1 Million Monthly Bookings, Highlighting Rapid Growth of Instant Home Services in India

Urban Company’s quick-service arm, InstaHelp, recorded more than 1 million bookings in March 2026, reaching the mark before month-end and underscoring strong urban demand for instant home services across India.

What InstaHelp offers and how it works

InstaHelp is an on-demand housekeeping platform focused on rapid fulfilment of daily household tasks such as cleaning, dishwashing, laundry and basic cooking. Unlike traditional domestic-help models that rely on advance scheduling, the service emphasises near-instant availability, often delivering assistance within minutes of a customer request.

Launched in Mumbai in 2025, InstaHelp has expanded to Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Pune. The vertical’s hyperlocal deployment, standardised service protocols and app-based booking flow have contributed to swift customer adoption in these metro and tier-1 markets.

Scale and market fit

The platform’s growth has been steep: daily bookings rose from tens of thousands to a run rate that produced over a million monthly bookings in a short timeframe. This expansion outpaced the early ramp of Urban Company’s core services, signalling that InstaHelp is moving beyond early adopters into mainstream use.

High-frequency demand and repeat usage indicate a strong product-market fit for a rapid, reliability-focused home-services offering that addresses everyday needs.

Demand drivers

Changing urban lifestyles — tighter work schedules, smaller family units and higher participation of dual-income households — are driving demand for flexible, on-demand home help. Consumers increasingly prefer app-based solutions that provide trained professionals, transparent pricing and predictable quality over informal domestic arrangements.

Operational challenges and outlook

Despite the milestone, InstaHelp remains in an investment-heavy growth phase. Key challenges include scaling the supply of vetted service partners, maintaining consistent service quality at volume, and moving the unit economics towards profitability.

Given the large and growing addressable market for quick household services, and parallels with the rapid category formation seen in food delivery and quick commerce, InstaHelp is positioned to create a distinct segment within India’s home services ecosystem if it can sustainably manage supply, quality and costs.
