Vodafone Idea (Vi) has introduced two new prepaid plans priced at Rs 249 and Rs 250, each offering 28 days of service validity. The standout feature of the Rs 249 plan is that it gives customers the freedom to decide whether they want daily data or a single lumpsum data package – a first for any telecom operator in India.
Rs 249 Plan: Daily Data or Lumpsum Choice
The Rs 249 prepaid plan offers users 28 days of validity with a unique flexibility. By default, customers receive 0.5GB of data every day. However, they can dial *188# from their registered Vi number to switch to a one-time lumpsum of 14GB data. Vi has confirmed that this switch option is only available on the day of recharge. The plan includes 300 SMS and works out to a daily cost of Rs 8.89. It is currently available only in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles.
Rs 250 Plan with Spotify Premium
The Rs 249 plan is paired with a Rs 250 prepaid option that also offers 28 days of validity. This plan includes a Spotify Premium subscription for the full 28-day period, which users can claim through the Vi app after recharging. It provides a one-time lumpsum of 2GB data along with 300 SMS. The daily cost works out to Rs 8.92. After the data quota is exhausted, customers are charged 50 paise per MB. Once the SMS quota runs out, local SMS costs Rs 1 and STD SMS costs Rs 1.5 each. Unlike the Rs 249 plan, this option is available across almost all circles in India.
Vi Also Offers Longer Validity Plans
Vi recently launched a Rs 1,750 prepaid plan with 150 days of validity. This plan provides unlimited voice calls across all networks, daily 100 SMS, and unlimited 4G and 5G data throughout the day. The daily cost for this plan is approximately Rs 11.66. It is available in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan circles. Vi has also introduced an unlimited plan priced at around Rs 10.51 per day for users in select circles who need extended validity and uninterrupted connectivity.
