Xovian Aerospace Raises $2M in Funding Led by Ashish Kacholia to Advance AI-Driven Satellite Technology in India

Bengaluru-based Xovian Aerospace has raised $2 million (about ₹16–18 crore) in a fresh funding round led by investor Ashish Kacholia, backing the startup’s push to build AI-native radio frequency (RF) satellite systems and scale operations amid rapid expansion of India’s private spacetech sector.

Funding to strengthen satellite technology development

The capital will be deployed to accelerate development of core RF satellite technologies and integrate artificial intelligence into communication and data satellites. Xovian positions its products as next‑generation infrastructure for satellite communications, targeting higher automation, spectral efficiency and intelligent payload management.

This round follows an earlier pre‑seed investment that supported the company’s long‑term roadmap to build AI‑first RF satellite infrastructure. The new funds aim to hasten productisation and expand engineering capacity to meet anticipated demand from commercial and institutional customers.

Investor confidence in India’s deeptech ecosystem

Ashish Kacholia’s participation underscores growing interest among high‑net‑worth investors in India’s early‑stage deeptech and spacetech startups. Traditionally active in public markets, such investors are increasingly backing private, innovation‑driven companies that bridge advanced electronics, software and aerospace engineering.

Xovian’s target markets span defence, satellite communications and space‑based intelligence. Rising demand for satellite connectivity, earth observation data and AI‑enabled space services has created fertile ground for niche firms developing specialised subsystems and payloads.

India’s spacetech momentum continues

Regulatory reforms and enhanced private‑sector participation over recent years have helped expand India’s spacetech ecosystem. Startups are moving into complex use cases—satellite communications, high‑resolution earth observation, and AI‑powered space applications—supported by a growing investor base and commercial demand.

With the fresh infusion of capital, Xovian Aerospace plans to scale engineering and product development efforts, contributing to India’s ambition of becoming a global hub for space technology innovation.
