Accel, in partnership with Google’s AI Futures Fund, has launched AI Cohort 2026 to support early-stage artificial intelligence startups with funding, technical infrastructure and expert mentorship. The programme aims to accelerate product development and scale AI-driven solutions amid growing global interest in generative and applied AI.
Programme details and support
Run under Accel’s scaling initiative Accel Atoms, AI Cohort 2026 offers a combination of capital, compute resources and strategic guidance to selected founders. The initiative received more than 4,000 applications worldwide, reflecting strong demand in the AI startup ecosystem.
Each of the five cohort companies will receive co-investment of up to $2 million from Accel and Google’s AI Futures Fund. In addition, participants will be granted up to $350,000 in compute credits, usable for Google Cloud infrastructure, access to Gemini models and tools from Google DeepMind.
Startups in the 2026 cohort
The five selected startups span scientific research, enterprise automation, voice AI, entertainment and manufacturing—sectors where large-scale AI deployment is accelerating.
- K-Dense: Developing an AI “co‑scientist” to assist researchers across physics, chemistry and life sciences, aimed at speeding discovery cycles and improving reproducibility.
- Dodge.ai: Building autonomous AI agents to modernise enterprise resource planning and automate operational workflows for businesses.
- Persistence Labs: Creating voice AI solutions to transform large call‑centre operations and enhance enterprise communications.
- Zingroll: Focusing on AI‑native entertainment experiences, including interactive streaming and AI‑driven content creation.
- LevelPlane: Applying AI to streamline industrial procurement and manufacturing processes, with use cases in automotive and aerospace supply chains.
Launch and ecosystem impact
The programme was launched in Bengaluru, a major hub for AI and deep‑tech startups in India. Selected founders will participate in mentorship sessions, technical workshops and investor networking designed to help them scale productively and access global markets.
Accel and Google intend AI Cohort 2026 to be a platform for nurturing companies that can emerge as leading global AI firms, by combining early capital, specialised compute access and domain expertise.
