OPPO Reno 16 5G could soon get costlier in India. A fresh report suggests both storage variants may see a Rs 5,000 price increase. The top model could climb to Rs 72,999, edging closer to Samsung’s Galaxy S26.
Rs 5,000 More on Both Reno 16 5G Variants
Both storage variants of the Reno 16 5G could become Rs 5,000 more expensive. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model launched at Rs 61,999 in India. With the new pricing, it may cost Rs 66,999. The 12GB RAM and 256GB variant could rise from Rs 67,999 to Rs 72,999. Customers may have to spend Rs 5,000 extra on either model.
Reno 16c 5G May Also Get Pricier
The price hike news is not limited to the Reno 16 5G alone. The Reno 16c 5G could also see revised pricing. Its 8GB and 128GB variant may jump from Rs 46,999 to Rs 49,999. The 8GB and 256GB model could reach Rs 53,999. The 12GB and 256GB version may go up to Rs 59,999.
Nearing the Galaxy S26 Price Zone
If these prices take effect, the Reno 16 5G top model will cost Rs 72,999. That puts it very close to flagship phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S26. The Galaxy S26 belongs to Samsung’s flagship S series. OPPO launched the Reno 16 in the premium mid-range segment. A price rise could weaken its value-for-money positioning.
Memory Costs Behind the Move
The report points to rising DRAM and NAND memory prices as the key reason. Growing AI-driven demand is straining the memory supply chain. Higher component costs are now hitting smartphone prices. Several brands have revised prices in recent months. OPPO’s likely hike reflects this industry-wide cost pressure.
