POCO M8x 5G will launch in India on August 21 at 12 noon. The phone will be sold through Flipkart. It packs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip and a huge 6000mAh battery. The expected price stays below Rs 20,000.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Comes to India First
The processor is the biggest highlight of the phone. POCO says it will be India’s first smartphone with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. The chip was unveiled at the Snapdragon for India event in May. POCO may become the first company to bring it to a real device.
12GB RAM, LPDDR4x and UFS 2.2 Storage
The company has confirmed up to 12GB RAM on the M8x 5G. This includes 6GB physical RAM and 6GB virtual RAM expansion. The phone uses LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Apps should open fast and multitasking should feel smooth. Everyday use should deliver reliable performance.
6.9-Inch Display, 6000mAh Battery and HyperOS 3
Leaks suggest a 6.9-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The fast screen should make scrolling and gaming feel fluid. A 6000mAh battery is expected along with 33W wired fast charging. The phone may run HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16.
Design and Expected Price in India
Teaser images show a textured flat rear panel. A square camera module sits at the top left corner. The green model has gold accents on the frame and camera module. Power and volume buttons are placed on the right side. The company has not shared the official price yet. Tipster Yogesh Brar expects the price to stay under Rs 20,000. POCO M8 5G launched at Rs 18,999 in India. POCO M8 Power 5G launched at Rs 24,999. The M8x 5G could sit between these two models.
