Oppo and Xiaomi have raised prices on multiple smartphones and tablets in India, with the Oppo Find X9s seeing the steepest hike of Rs 5,000. The revision affects models including the Xiaomi Pad 8, Redmi Pad 2, and Redmi 15A. The increases come as manufacturers grapple with rising memory component costs across the industry.
Oppo Find X9s Gets Rs 5,000 Price Hike
The Oppo Find X9s now costs Rs 84,999 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant, up from Rs 79,999. The 12GB RAM with 512GB model has gone from Rs 89,999 to Rs 94,999. Both variants saw a uniform Rs 5,000 increase. The Find X9s features a 6.59-inch display, MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, 12GB RAM, a 7,025mAh battery, a 50MP triple rear camera, and a 32MP front camera.
Xiaomi Pad 8 Becomes Rs 3,000 Pricier
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is now Rs 3,000 more expensive. The 12GB RAM with 256GB variant now costs Rs 46,999, up from Rs 43,999. The Nano Texture variant has risen from Rs 45,999 to Rs 48,999. The Pad 8 was already hiked in August, pushing its top variant past Rs 50,000.
Redmi Pad 2 and Redmi 15A See Smaller Increases
Redmi Pad 2 prices have risen by up to Rs 1,000. The 4GB RAM with 128GB Wi-Fi model now costs Rs 19,999, up from Rs 18,999. The 4GB RAM with 128GB Cellular variant is now Rs 20,999. The 6GB RAM with 128GB Cellular model costs Rs 23,999, and the 8GB RAM with 256GB Cellular variant is now Rs 25,999. On the budget front, the Redmi 15A has also seen revisions. The 4GB RAM with 64GB model now costs Rs 16,499, up from Rs 15,999. The 4GB RAM with 128GB variant is now Rs 18,499, up from Rs 17,499. The 6GB RAM with 128GB model now costs Rs 20,499, compared to Rs 19,499 earlier.
Memory Component Costs Drive the Price Surge
The primary reason behind these increases is the rising cost of memory components. Higher prices for RAM and storage chips are pushing up manufacturing costs for phone makers. Other smartphone brands have also adjusted prices in recent weeks as the trend continues across the Indian market.
