Prabhsimran Singh has responded to his India team snub in the loudest way possible. The Punjab Kings opener smashed back-to-back centuries in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League. His blazing knocks came just days after he was dropped from India’s T20 squad for the upcoming Afghanistan series. The 24-year-old has been in breathtaking form across all formats this season.
Century No. 2 Against Bathinda Royals
Playing for Jalandhar Warriors against Bathinda Royals, Prabhsimran smashed a brilliant century on Thursday. His knock included 10 boundaries and seven massive sixes. The star batter powered his team to 205 runs in just 19.3 overs. Jalandhar Warriors won a thrilling contest by three runs in a high-scoring clash at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
125 off 47 on Tuesday Against Amritsar Surma
Just a day earlier on Tuesday, Prabhsimran had smashed 125 runs off just 47 balls against Amritsar Surma. That innings came just hours after the Indian squad for the Afghanistan T20I series was officially announced. His name was missing from that squad as Sanju Samson made a comeback in his place. The timing of his century sent a strong message to the selectors.
IPL 2026 Top Scorer for Punjab Kings
Prabhsimran plays for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League. He was the highest run-scorer for the franchise in IPL 2026. He was also part of India’s T20 squad for the Zimbabwe series in July 2026. However, he did not get a chance to play in any match during that tour before being dropped for the Afghanistan series at home.
Dominating the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League Season
The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League features six franchise teams from Amritsar, Fazilka, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mohali and Bathinda. The tournament runs from August 30 to September 13 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. A total of 27 matches will be played in a round-robin format. Prabhsimran is the leading run-scorer of the season with 311 runs from three matches. His scores include 76 off 42 balls against Fazilka Falcons, followed by 110 and 125 in his last two outings. Each team has one marquee player and at least two icon players, creating a strong mix of international, domestic and young talent in the league.
