The company’s IFA 2026 press release revealed the new smartphone alongside the Edge 70 Plus, Watch Ultra, and Snap wireless charger. Leaked details suggest a 200MP camera and four color options for the upcoming device.
Motorola Confirms Edge 70 Neo Development at IFA 2026
Motorola issued a press release covering its IFA 2026 announcements in Berlin. The brand introduced the Edge 70 Plus, Watch Ultra, and Snap wireless charger. The same press release confirmed the Motorola Edge 70 Neo is in active development. The company stated the phone will be released in India in the coming months. Motorola has not revealed any specific feature details about the device yet.
Compact Display and Android 17 Expected
Looking at the previous generation Edge Neo-branded phone, the Edge 70 Neo could feature a compact display of about 6.3 inches. Industry insiders believe it could be Motorola’s first phone to come pre-loaded with Android 17. A report from August revealed Motorola had already started Android 17 beta testing for the Edge 70 Neo. This would give the device a significant software advantage over competitors.
Four Color Options and 200MP Camera Leak
A leaked image from last month revealed the Edge 70 Neo will be available in four colors. These include Pink, Dark Green, Light Green, and Light Blue. The leak also indicated the phone features a 200 megapixel camera. However, there is uncertainty whether the image shows the Edge 70 Neo or the already launched Edge 70 Plus. The color options, design, and 200MP camera combination match the Edge 70 Plus exactly. Both phones may share a similar design language and color palette.
Edge 70 Series Continues to Expand Rapidly
The Edge 70 Neo will join Motorola’s growing Edge 70 series in India. Motorola launched the standard Edge 70 in December 2025. The Edge 70 Fusion and Edge 70 Fusion Plus followed in March 2026. The Edge 70 Pro arrived in April 2026. The Edge 70 Pro Plus and Edge 70 Max launched in June and July 2026 respectively. The Edge 70 Fusion Plus was not released in India. The Edge 70 Neo will fill that gap with a fresh design and powerful camera.
