Everest cumin powder faces removal order
The direction applies specifically to Everest Cumin Powder. It requires the product to be taken off the market; it is not an order naming Everest products generally.
The featured pack is marked “UNSAFE”. The action concerns cumin powder, a ground spice made from cumin seeds. The Wikipedia entry on cumin provides general information about the spice.
- Product named in the order: Everest Cumin Powder.
- FSSAI action: order to remove the product from the market.
- Separate action: Creative Bakers’ licence suspended.
Creative Bakers’ licence suspended
FSSAI has also suspended the licence held by Creative Bakers. A suspension is the action stated; the announcement does not describe it as a cancellation.
The product-removal order and the licence suspension are distinct parts of the action. One names Everest Cumin Powder for removal from the market, while the other names Creative Bakers and its licence.
FSSAI is the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Its action places the named spice product and Creative Bakers’ licence at the centre of the notice, without extending the product order to other Everest items.
What the order names
For retailers and buyers, the key product identifier is Everest Cumin Powder, rather than cumin powder as a broader category. The notice’s stated measure is removal of that named product from the market.
Creative Bakers is the business named in the separate licensing action. Its licence has been suspended, while the product measure names Everest Cumin Powder.
