Ather Energy has launched its most awaited family-oriented electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 99,999. The new e-scooter is built on Ather’s next-generation EL platform and is available in S Line and Z Line variants. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from September 21, and it will compete directly with the TVS iQube, Ola S1 series, Bajaj Chetak, and Vida electric scooters.
Price and Variants
The Konarc S base variant with 100 km range is priced at Rs 99,999. The 125 km range variant costs Rs 1,21,999, while the 161 km variant is available at Rs 1,44,999. Ather will announce the price of the top-end 200 km range variant at a later date. The Konarc Z series with 125 km and 161 km range options has been listed as coming soon.
Design and Features
The Ather Konarc sports a sharper and sportier look compared to the older 450 series. It features an integrated LED headlamp, U-shaped LED DRLs, a wide single-piece seat, and a flat floorboard. The scooter includes smartphone connectivity and a unique Airwalk feature that uses the electric motor to help move the scooter forward or backward in tight spaces. A touchscreen instrument console and front storage cubby are also provided.
Battery and Performance
The Konarc uses Ather’s new Bedrock battery system with multiple configurations. The top-end S Line variant delivers a claimed IDC range of 200 km on a single charge, while the base variant offers 100 km. The S Line has a top speed of 70 km per hour, and the Z Line reaches 80 km per hour. The scooter comes with a 450W in-built charger that supports up to 900W on-board charging. Ather claims the battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in just 2 hours.
