Chinese electronics giant Hisense has launched the unique A10 e-ink smartphone series in China. The lineup includes two models – the A10 Pro and A10 Ultra – both featuring a 6.13-inch paper-like e-ink display with an optional detachable magnetic color screen that transforms the phone into a regular color smartphone.
Detachable Color Screen Is the Key Highlight
The biggest feature is the optional 4.96-inch LCD panel that attaches magnetically to the phone’s back panel. Users can browse color comics, view charts, watch short videos, and use social media apps. The A10 Ultra includes the color screen in the box, while the A10 Pro only comes with magnetic contacts and needs a separate purchase.
E-Ink Display Designed for Reading
Both phones pack a 6.13-inch Carta 1300 e-ink display with 1648×824 pixel resolution and 300 PPI density. The screen supports 256 grayscale levels and 36 dual-color front lighting levels. It produces no blue light or flicker and uses the E Ink T2000 TCON chip for refresh rate handling. Hisense says the screen is ideal for reading e-books, noting PDFs, and studying.
Pricing and Variants
The A10 Pro comes in three variants: 8GB+128GB at 2,799 yuan (Rs 39,700), 8GB+256GB at 2,999 yuan (Rs 42,500), and 12GB+512GB at 3,499 yuan (Rs 49,700). The A10 Ultra starts at 3,198 yuan (Rs 45,400) for 8GB+128GB, 3,398 yuan (Rs 48,000) for 8GB+256GB, and 3,898 yuan (Rs 55,300) for 12GB+512GB.
