Hyundai has announced an aggressive product roadmap for India at its 2026 CEO Investor Day. The South Korean automaker plans to launch 26 new models and updates in the country by 2030. The lineup includes a dedicated compact electric SUV and a new petrol-powered midsize SUV.

Compact Electric SUV Coming in Q4 2026

Hyundai will start its next product cycle with a new A-segment electric SUV in the fourth quarter of 2026. The model is being developed specifically for Indian buyers with high localisation. Test mules of the compact EV have already been spotted on Indian roads.

The electric SUV will feature a next-generation infotainment system and Level 2 ADAS. Hyundai has not revealed battery capacity or certified range yet. The compact EV will sit below the Creta Electric in Hyundai’s lineup and target India’s growing mass-market EV segment.

New ICE Midsize SUV to Rival Maruti Victoris

Hyundai has officially confirmed a new ICE-powered midsize SUV for India. Spy shots show camouflaged test vehicles already undergoing development. The upcoming SUV is expected to be based on the global Hyundai Bayon but with India-specific design and equipment changes.

The midsize SUV will rival the Maruti Victoris and similar models. Hyundai plans to offer both petrol and factory-fitted CNG powertrain options. The CNG variant will help Hyundai compete directly with Maruti Suzuki’s growing alternative-fuel portfolio.

Manufacturing Expansion and Localisation Push

Hyundai plans to add 3.2 lakh units to its annual Indian manufacturing capacity by 2030. The company’s current total capacity stands at about 11 lakh vehicles per year. Hyundai aims to use 90% local parts in its India-made vehicles by 2030.

More than 1,400 domestic suppliers and over 900 local engineers will support this localisation drive. India will remain a key export hub for Hyundai. The company expects about 30% of India-made vehicles to be exported to Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America by 2030.

Genesis Launch and TVS Partnership

Hyundai has partnered with TVS Motor for electric three-wheelers. Hyundai will design these vehicles while TVS will handle manufacturing. The luxury brand Genesis is also scheduled to launch in India in 2027.
