Adani Energy Solutions has secured a massive ₹4,700 crore transmission project in Maharashtra to strengthen renewable energy supply across the state. The company will develop this infrastructure to support solar and wind power distribution while boosting pumped storage systems. This project marks one of the largest transmission orders awarded in the renewable energy sector this year.
Project Scope and Infrastructure
The project involves building approximately 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines with 9,000 MVA transformation capacity. A new 765/400 kV substation will be constructed in Satara, while a 765 kV double-circuit transmission line will be laid between Kolhapur and Satara. The Kolhapur pooling station will also receive capacity upgrades along with other substation enhancements.
Renewable Energy and Pumped Storage Boost
The project is expected to benefit Maharashtra’s rapidly growing pumped storage ecosystem significantly. Pumped storage is emerging as a critical component for renewable energy since solar and wind power are not consistently available around the clock. The transmission framework will help channel excess power into storage systems during peak generation hours for later use.
Network Expansion and Order Book
After this order, Adani Energy Solutions’ total transmission network will expand to approximately 29,739 circuit kilometres. Its transformation capacity will reach about 1,43,425 MVA. The company’s transmission order book will grow to roughly ₹85,000 crore, marking a significant milestone in its infrastructure expansion journey.
Stock Performance
Adani Energy Solutions shares traded at ₹1,616.80 on August 26, registering a gain of 1.40 percent or ₹22.30 from the previous close. The stock had closed at ₹1,594.50 on August 25 and at ₹1,555.10 on August 24, showing consistent upward momentum through the week.
CEO Outlook
CEO Kandarp Patel stated that pumped storage will play a vital role in India’s clean energy transition moving forward. The Satara project will create the necessary transmission infrastructure to deliver renewable energy to the grid and promote energy storage solutions across the region. Patel emphasized that this project aligns with India’s broader clean energy goals.
