Bajaj Auto will launch two new Pulsar models on August 24. The updated Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 have leaked ahead of the official debut. Both bikes bring fresh styling, new hardware and a revised engine.
Updated Oil-Cooled Engine for Pulsar 150
The Pulsar 150 gets an updated oil-cooled engine. Official power figures are not revealed yet. Better cooling should improve overall performance. The current Pulsar 125 uses a 124.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 11.8hp power and 10.8Nm torque. The current Pulsar 150 has a 149.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit. It generates 14hp power and 13.3Nm torque. Bajaj has kept output details under wraps for now.
All-New Chassis and Suspension
Both motorcycles will ride on an all-new chassis. A single-downtube frame replaces the old twin-cradle frame. The front gets a conventional RSU telescopic fork. The rear twin-shock setup makes way for a monoshock unit. Braking comes from a front disc and rear drum brake. The base variant is expected to get single-channel ABS. This is a major structural change for the entry-level Pulsar range.
Modern Design With Classic Pulsar DNA
The familiar Pulsar look stays intact. Bajaj adds a new headlight cowl and fresh side panels. A fully digital LCD instrument cluster is part of the package. Higher variants may get a TFT cluster like the Pulsar N160. The heel-toe gear shifter is replaced by a toe shifter. Dealership bikes showed a single-piece seat. A split-seat version may arrive on the 150’s higher variant.
What to Expect on August 24
More details should surface around August 24. The classic Pulsar line has survived many updates. Bajaj has tried to replace it several times before. Strong demand kept the model alive in the market. These new models could finally complete that transition. Buyers waiting for an upgrade should hold on for the launch.
