The Indian smartphone market is gearing up for a packed week with three new launches scheduled across August 18 and August 25. TECNO will unveil the POVA 8 Pro on August 18 on Flipkart, while audio brand Boltt will make its smartphone debut with the Ace 5G and Evo models on August 25.
TECNO POVA 8 Pro: Key Specifications
The POVA 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch Hyperlux AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G chipset paired with a dedicated P1 graphics chip for gaming. The phone includes a 5,000mm squared vapor chamber with 5K IceShield VC cooling system.
A standout feature is the Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel, which uses 177 individually controllable mini LEDs. It provides breathing light effects across 49 plus scenarios including calls, messages, gaming and file transfers. The device also has a customizable orange shortcut button on the right side. The POVA 8 Pro measures 7.39mm in thickness and weighs around 189 grams. It comes in Graphite Black, Tundra Green and Arc White color options.
Boltt Ace 5G and Evo: First Smartphones From Audio Brand
Boltt, known for its earphones and audio accessories, is entering the smartphone segment with two models. Both phones will be sold on Flipkart starting August 25. The Boltt Ace 5G packs a 64-megapixel main rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, while the Boltt Evo features a 50-megapixel main camera. Both smartphones have an 8-megapixel front camera with Real Tone support.
The devices come with Google AI imaging features including Face Unblur, AI Night Mode and Scene Optimization. Google Gemini will power several AI functions such as object identification, text translation, Circle to Search and Google Lens. The Ace 5G comes in red with a 9.49mm thickness, while the Evo arrives in light blue. Both phones pack a 6,000mAh battery, with the Ace 5G supporting 18W fast charging. Boltt claims the battery retains over 80 percent capacity even after 500 plus charge cycles.
