UpKraft Secures ₹1.6 Crore to Scale Its AI Learning Platform

Bengaluru-based edtech startup UpKraft has secured ₹1.6 crore in a pre-seed round led by operator-led accelerator PedalStart, with participation from angel investors and startup ecosystem operators. The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its AI-driven learning platform, refine its business model, and scale operations across key Indian cities before exploring overseas markets.

Founding team, footprint, and performance indicators

Founded in July 2025 by Tejasvi Singh Kushwah, Varun Mangal, and Kritika Varandani, UpKraft draws on alumni experience from IIT Kharagpur, ISB Hyderabad, and leading IIMs, alongside leadership roles at high-growth firms. The startup currently operates in Bengaluru and Gurugram. It reports a customer satisfaction score above 4.7; however, it has not disclosed the sample size or methodology.

Community-first delivery model with AI support

UpKraft delivers extracurricular learning by deploying trained instructors to homes, gated communities, and partner schools. The company collaborates with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to aggregate students within apartment complexes, reducing instructor travel, improving utilisation, and lowering customer acquisition costs through local referrals.

The platform focuses on music education—Guitar, Piano, Drums, Violin, and Vocals—along with Dance and Fitness. Courses follow a structured curriculum with a library of over 2,000 songs and alignment with Trinity certification pathways, a widely recognised benchmark in music proficiency.

Technology underpins delivery and practice. UpKraft’s AI Practice Companion provides instant feedback during practice sessions, recommends personalised learning plans, and tracks practice consistency. Parents access real-time dashboards for attendance and progress, while teachers receive tools for lesson planning, tailored assignments, automated updates, and streamlined billing and reminders.

Hiring and growth priorities

Over the next 12–18 months, UpKraft aims to deepen its presence in Bengaluru and Gurugram and accelerate student enrolments. The company is expanding teams across AI and data science, product engineering, customer success, tutor onboarding, and field marketing.

Current openings include a Manager – Field Marketing role in Bengaluru’s Marathahalli, offering ₹30,000–₹40,000 per month plus performance incentives and travel reimbursement. The position involves RWA partnerships, community music events, trial sessions within residential complexes, and offline brand-building activities—key levers in UpKraft’s neighbourhood-led go-to-market.

Investor involvement beyond capital

PedalStart will provide hands-on support in business planning, governance, investor outreach, and GTM optimisation. The accelerator cited UpKraft’s community-based model as a defensible advantage, given its operational intensity and reliance on hyperlocal partnerships.

Operational policies and scheduling

  • Rescheduling is permitted with at least 24 hours’ notice to a Relationship Manager via WhatsApp; late requests are treated as completed classes.
  • One class may be rescheduled after every eight sessions, to be completed within one month; group classes are not eligible for rescheduling.
  • Students may pause classes for up to two weeks for exams or travel upon providing supporting documents.
  • Course extensions: one month for three-month plans and two months for six-month plans when required to finish pending sessions.

With demand rising for structured, quality extracurricular learning, the fresh funding equips UpKraft to enhance its AI features, expand community partnerships, and extend its reach to more learners in the months ahead.
