Mahindra is preparing to launch three new off-road focused vehicles in India. The lineup includes a Thar facelift, a new sub-4-metre SUV and a lifestyle pickup truck based on the Scorpio-N platform. Each model brings distinct upgrades in design, features and drivetrain options. These new launches aim to strengthen Mahindra’s position in the growing off-road SUV segment.
New Mahindra Thar Facelift Gets Modern Interior Upgrades
The updated Thar gets a redesigned grille with Thar Roxx-style projector headlights. LED DRLs, new tail lamps and fresh alloy wheels complete the exterior makeover. Inside the cabin now offers a digital driver display, ventilated seats and automatic climate control. ADAS is also added for the first time on the Thar. The engine options remain unchanged with the 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel units. Both continue to offer the 4×4 drivetrain option for hardcore off-road enthusiasts.
New Sub-4-Metre SUV Built on Next-Gen NU-IQ Platform
Mahindra’s upcoming sub-4-metre SUV will be the first model built on the new NU-IQ platform. It packs a panoramic sunroof, level-2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera as standard features. A large touchscreen and leatherette seats add to the premium cabin feel. Engine choices include a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. Select variants may also come with AWD capability for better traction on rough terrain. This platform will underpin future Mahindra models as well.
Lifestyle Pickup Truck Based on Scorpio-N Platform
The lifestyle pickup truck borrows the Scorpio-N platform and gets a bold front grille. L-shaped DRLs with LED headlights and 18-inch wheels give it a rugged stance. Body cladding adds to the tough look of this pickup. Inside the cabin features a portrait-style touchscreen, dual-zone climate control and ventilated seats. A sunroof and level-2 ADAS are also included in the package. Power comes from a 2.2-litre diesel and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. Both 2WD and 4×4 drivetrain options will be offered to buyers. This model targets the growing lifestyle pickup segment in India.
