Comedian Samay Raina is back in the spotlight as Bollywood star Varun Dhawan appears on India’s Got Latent Season 2. The promo from the upcoming episode has gone viral across social media platforms. Samay cracks jokes at Varun’s expense, especially targeting his much-awaited war film Border 2.
Varun Dhawan Joins Samay Raina Panel
Netflix India shared a fun trailer of the upcoming episode on social media. The promo shows Samay making fun of Varun’s trademark smile. A guest panelist also jokes about his acting skills. Samay jokingly said that after the FIR controversy last year, he now gets big stars like Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. He added that the show is going downhill with these star guests. Varun laughed heartily at the joke. The episode also features comedians Sharron Verma, Nishant Verma and 12th Fail actress Medha Shankar as panelists.
Samay Mocks Border 2 and Varun’s Films
In another clip, a contestant asked the judges to pick a number from 1 to 5. Varun chose 1 and said he likes the number. Samay immediately mocked him saying then why did he spoil Border 2. Varun defended the film, saying it made money at the box office. Samay also brought up Varun’s old film Hey Jawani Tu Ishq Hona Hai. He changed the film’s name and quipped that if your father is a director, you will become an actor anyway. The episode clips spread rapidly on social media after release.
Varun Watches Show Alone Without Family
Varun shared that he is a fan of the show but watches it alone, not with his family. He said he knew something wrong would happen when he agreed to appear. Samay replied saying something did go wrong and Varun is standing right there. Comedian Sharron Verma also mocked Varun’s past statement when he described the film Dilwale as being like Inception. Varun explained he was trying to make a joke but nobody understood it. Samay recently faced backlash for calling Archana Puran Singh’s husband and sons nalla berozgar in a previous episode and was heavily trolled online.
