At the Shri Ram College of Commerce centenary event in Delhi, PM Modi called the senior alumni OG. OG originally meant Original Gangster. Today, Gen Z uses it for someone experienced, original, and highly respected in their field. The crowd responded with enthusiasm to the Prime Minister’s language choice.
Flex and Dhurandhar Make an Appearance
PM Modi used the word Flex in the same speech at SRCC. Flex is a slang term for showing off one’s achievements or possessions. When someone repeatedly shows their car or home, Gen Z calls it flexing. The Prime Minister also used Dhurandhar, a word that became popular after a hit movie. It means being expert or highly influential in a task.
First Gen and Aura Connect with Students and Teachers
At the IIT Delhi convocation, PM Modi used the phrase First Gen. This phrase became popular through Instagram reels. It means being the first person in a family to achieve something. During a conversation with National Teachers Award winners, the Prime Minister used the word Aura. Aura refers to a person’s personality, presence, or confidence that impacts others.
