The Indian captain achieved this milestone during the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. No other player in the history of the format has captained in as many T20I games.
Record-Breaking Milestone at Dubai
Harmanpreet walked out for the toss against Pakistan as captain for the 150th time in T20Is. She surpassed all competitors in both men’s and women’s cricket with this achievement. The previous best was Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu who captained in 121 T20I matches. Australia’s Meg Lanning led her team in 100 T20I games during her illustrious career. England’s Heather Knight and Rwanda’s Diane Bimenyimana both captained in 96 matches each.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
